When former Harvard Business School Dean Dr. Kim Clark addressed to a class of Harvard graduates at the June 2005 commencement, he encouraged graduates to "invest first at home and to think of this as by far your most important investment. Indeed, I believe that the most important work that you will do in your lives will be within the walls of your own home." He also counselled that "Don't let wealth and privilege and power become ends in themselves, and a corrosive force in your life. Don't set your heart on them. Where is our success path leading us to? I have come acrossed some interesting quotes as follows:

Mark Caine said "There are those who travel and those who are going somewhere. They are different and yet they are the same. The success has this over his rivals: He knows where he is going."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said "What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals."

It is important to know whether our goals make us become a better person with greater capacity to do good.

Character

Character is developed through conscious decisions as one go through life's journey. As Richard G. Scott said "The bedrock of character is integrity." "You solidify your character by consistent correct choices." Good choices requires good thoughts. Thought is probably the only thing one can have control over. We can be more proactive in managing our thoughts. Instead of passively allowing negative thoughts from occuping our mind, we can actively engage our mind in positive and good thoughts. Ezra Taft Benson taught that "Thoughts lead to acts, acts lead to habits, habits lead to character, and our character will determine our eternal destiny." If one wants to have a successful character, one should start to have successful thoughts. I believe reading, watching, listening to wholesome materials can fill our mind with good thoughts. We can easily find successful quotes, good books, motivational talks, uplifting videos and music, etc to help us to develop successful thinking pattern which leads to successful acts, then successful habits and eventually a successful character.

Success

Success is one of the more discussed or sort after subject of all time. The concept of success is a subjective one. People perceive success in many different ways and it is difficult to capture all its meanings. The Oxford Dictionary defines success as the "achievement of a desired end, or of fame, wealth or social position" (Oxford 1994). Another dictionary defines success as the "achievement of something that you have been trying to do...of a high position in a particular field" "makes a lot of money, or is admired a great deal" (Collins 1999).

People spend their live time to seek after things they value. However, the fundamental meaning of success is closely related to happiness, even though people have different interpretation about happiness.
